a brief history of the color red

I found this very amusing.

Linguistically speaking, if a language only has two words to describe colors (you know, some languages have 100 words for 'snow,' etc.), those words will mean something like "light" and "dark."

If a language is going to have a third color word, that color will mean something like "red."
